First he saw his neighbor's balcony. Then he wanted his own.
Apartment 202 at the Scala Building came to us the best way possible: by direct referral. His neighbor in 201 had just unveiled the balcony-terrace AMATE Studio built for him, and the owner of 202 wasted no time in calling. In 2020 we carried out the extension: turning an underused interior space into an outdoor terrace that visually extends the apartment and gives it back a presence toward the outside.
The project involved structural and masonry work to project the balcony outward, respecting the building's facade and making sure the result would last in Puerto Vallarta's coastal climate. The flooring, the finishes, the layout — everything was designed to feel like an original part of the apartment, not an add-on.
Four years later, the client came back. This time with a different project: renovating his kitchen. In 2024 we reworked the heart of the apartment — a new layout, fresh materials, custom woodwork — so the interior would live up to the balcony he loved so much.
