Casa Manglar

One house. Two families. A single threshold that never gets crossed.

The client had a single-story house and a specific need: housing two families with complete privacy, without building from scratch. The challenge wasn't making the existing house bigger — it was making what was already there smarter. The solution wasn't to divide, but to add upward.

We designed a second level with fully independent access: its own exterior staircase, separate garage, entrances that never cross. Two homes with a single address. The architectural scheme resolves coexistence without sacrificing the privacy of either family.

The element that unifies and distinguishes the facade is an artisanal breeze-block screen designed for this project — hand-molded blocks that filter the light, define the scale of the second level and visually mark the house's identity without breaking its unity.
